International Seminar “Application of innovations in agribusiness sector” within the frames of Tempus UnIvEnt project

On May 16-20, 2013 an International Seminar “Application of innovations in agribusiness sector” was conducted in Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (Ganja, Azerbaijan).

During the opening of the Seminar a speech was given to acting rector of ASAU – prof. I. Jabbarov, by grantholder of the project prof. K. Haenssgen, project financial manager Mrs. M. Ivanova and local coordinator – prof A. Yunusov. They spoke about UnIvEnt project aims, on results of the activity of partner from Germany, Spain, Portugal, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and about objectives of further project sustainability provision.

Next part of the seminar took place in Center of Transfer of Innovations, which was recently created at ASAU within UnIvEnt project. During these sessions, presentations were made by Prof. K. Anarkulov (FSU), docent K.Kurpayanidi (FPI). They spoke about project activity in universities of Uzbekistan and about further project objectives to complete.

The second day of the seminar was started by the presentation of the leading specialist of Ferghana branch of Republican Scientific-Producion Center of Agriulture Mr. A. Salaydinov. He spoke about process of innovation creation in scphere of agribusiness and about cooperation between universities and enterprices.

Prof. A.Rustamov and docent D. Gasimov from Nakhchivan State University reported about project results of their university.

Senior lecturers of ASAU E. Namazov and V. Magumaev, as staff of CTI of ASAU told the participants about the activity of the Center in work of farmers and entrepreneurs, who are involved in agribusiness.

During the visit to the office of one of the main project partners from Azerbaijan – GABA – Agrobusiness Association of Ganja, participants of the seminar spoke about activity, structure and international cooperations of the organization. At a round table meeting a Head of Association – prof. V. Babaev shared information about innovations, which are being introduced into the sphere of agribusiness.

Recommendations on improvement of innovation introduction into sphere of production and agribusiness were elaborated as a result of two day international seminar meeting in Ganja.
