FIELD MONITORING OF THE 517522-TEMPUS-1-2011-1-DE-TEMPUS-JPCR – UNIVENT PROJECT

As a part of the standard monitoring arrangements for all Tempus projects and implemented in accordance with the monitoring plan adopted by EACEA a field monitoring has taken place in Ferghana state University on April 11 2014 by the coordinator of National Tempus Office (NTO) in Uzbekistan – Mrs. A. Abdurakhmanova and NTO expert Mr. I. Vikhrov

Rector of FSU prof. Sh.Tashmatov, rector of FPI docent O.Otakulov, vice-rectors of both HEEs, professors and teachers – project team members, students, representatives of non-academic partner institutions and organizations and public organizations, and Ferghana province Administration attended the monitoring event.

Some 18 presentations, covering the thematic of project achievements, results and sustainability matters, were presented at the meeting.

Results of the monitoring will be announced by EACEA soon.

Participation of the project UnIvEnt on the fair EU EDUCATION FAIR

UnIvEnt project staff member Dilshod Urinov has participated in a two day Education Fair “Study in the European Union”, which was organized with the initiative of EU delegation in Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Embassies of EU states in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of Republic of Uzbekistan held on November 11-12, 2013 in Tashkent Architecture and Building Institute.

During this event EU Education Fair was organized, where a presentation of UnIvEnt project has taken place as well. 8 posters, booklets, journals of the materials for two international conferences of UnIvEnt project and other hand out materials were prepared and distributed.

International experience exchange within UnIvEnt project

Within UnIvEnt project activities a leading specialist of Ferghana Province Scientific-production Center of Agriculture (FSPCA) Adilbek Salaydinov visited Azerbaijan on November 2-9, 2013 following the invitation of project partners from Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ASAU) and Ganja Agribusiness Association (GABA).

The main objective of the visit is experience exchange with the specialists of GABA on agricultural production and agro technical handling of the production, application of advanced technologies in viticulture, and creating new vineyard plantation on 1 ha of land area applying Uzbek technologies.

Preliminarily climate and soil conditions of the appointed area in the farming enterprise of Gakh district were studied and analyzed, technical means were prepared and needed materials were procured. Rods of 15 table variety, vinous and seedless types of grapes from Uzbekistan were planted in the appointed land. Local specialists were given consultations on agro technical handling of the rods.

Partners form Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are hoping for further cooperation in the sector after the project end as well.

Innovative cooperation between science, education and production as the basis of modernization

On September 6, 2013Ferghana state University hosted an International Scientific-Practical Seminar titled “Innovative cooperation between science, education and production as the basis of modernization”

The peculiarity of the scientific -practical seminar was that participants from the European Union and Azerbaijan got introduced to final results of UnIvEnt project and were directly involved in pre-seminar events on September 4-5, and shared their thoughts, visions and ideas during the seminar on September 6.

On September 4th seminar participants with invitation of the leading specialist of Ferghana Department of Scientific and Production Center of Agriculture – Mr. Adilbek Salaydinova were acquainted with the activities of the Fergana branch of the National Institute of Horticulture , Viticulture and Wine. In particular, they observed the activities of the School of Gardeners, where training programs and handout materials were presented to the visitors. AS well, the visitors were invited to see the results of the intensive gardening projects with innovations applied in horticulture of Uzbekistan.

Final international scientifically-practical seminar

International Seminar “Application of innovations in agribusiness sector” within the frames of Tempus UnIvEnt project

On May 16-20, 2013 an International Seminar “Application of innovations in agribusiness sector” was conducted in Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (Ganja, Azerbaijan).

During the opening of the Seminar a speech was given to acting rector of ASAU – prof. I. Jabbarov, by grantholder of the project prof. K. Haenssgen, project financial manager Mrs. M. Ivanova and local coordinator – prof A. Yunusov. They spoke about UnIvEnt project aims, on results of the activity of partner from Germany, Spain, Portugal, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and about objectives of further project sustainability provision.

Training of students of Masters studies on “Basics of scientific researches”

Training sessions have taken place in the department of Masters Studies of Ferghana State University on basics of scientific researches during April 2013. Training sessions were developed for students of magistracy by the academic staff of UnIvEnt project group. The main goal for these trainings was developing knowledge of students on optimal strategies for scientific researches, capacity building for creation and application of innovations into production process.

Consultants of UnIvEnt conducted the trainings in which students of magistracy and professors have taken active part. Trainings are elaborated on bases of interactive technologies, which allow independent actions of the participants.

These trainings were implemented in several stages: work with scientific journals and other web sources, data analysis, identification and formulation of problems and issues, planning of stages and detailing researches, team work in problem solving.

Monitoring has shown a high efficiency and demand od such training for intensification of innovative activity of the university.

External monitoring of project by EC expert

External monitoring took place at Center of Transfer of Innovations of Ferghana State University within Tempus “UnIvEnt” project on December 11-15. This monitoring was conducted by the expert of ECORYS – Monitoring program of EU projects in Asia and Central Asia – Mrs. Karina Astanova.

Study visit to Portugal

Study visit of UnIvEnt project actors to Insituto de Superior Pacos de Brandao, Portugal has taken place on December 3-10, 2012. Academic and non-academic partners from Germany, Spain, Portugal, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have taken part in this visit.

In opinion of participants, the visit was very fruitful and variable from the other previous study meetings within project. The visit was linked to International Conference “University-Industry Partnership”, which was organized within the frames of TEMPUS project Master Program in Applied Biosciences (MAPB) by the Consulting Association Paulo&Beatriz-Consultores Assosiados, Lda (P&B) on December 5, 2012 года. P&B is an actor in both Tempus projects of UnIvEnt and МAPB, and cooperates with universities of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Great Britain, Spain and Germany. In the reports and presentations, specific points of science and production cooperation in system of higher education of EU and Partner countries were described. Also, information on ways of science and production integration was shared, including the indexes in each specified county.

Interproject coaching and studying experience of Tempus projects implemented in Uzbekistan

On November 15, 2012 staff of CTI of FSU and representatives of non-academic partners of UnIvEnt project have visited Westminster International University in Tashkent to meet the staff, who had implemented “PERSEUS” project which has been completed in 2012. The following project was chosen to be studied since as UnIvEnt project completed project of WIUT “PERSEUS” was aiming to study and organize the best ways of linking science and production. PERSEUS project has achieved big results and experience in this direction and these achievements were highlighted in many publications, final reports, etc. For the project period Centers of Transfer of Innovations were organized at partner universities within PERSUES project.
